The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command will conduct a Crisis Response Simulation Exercise on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja, as part of efforts to bolster inter-agency emergency preparedness across Nigeria.
Coordinated by the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA), the drill involves collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force and other security outfits to test response mechanisms to potential threats.
FCT Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh emphasized in a Wednesday statement that the exercise aims to enhance coordination and readiness without posing any real danger to the public.
Similar simulations have been held previously, including one at Idu Train Station in November 2024, which focused on crisis management training for security forces. Residents can expect a heightened security presence and temporary traffic diversions around the venue, but Adeh urged calm, assuring that the activity is routine and controlled.
"The exercise is purely a drill and poses no cause for alarm," she stated, calling for public cooperation with personnel and adherence to advisories to maintain smooth operations.
